KATA DIVISIONS

Kata competition will use current IJF Kata rules and scoring.

Kata participants are registered individually, but are required to be allocated to a team, consisting of two persons. The name of the team is up to the first person to register, we recommend that you use first Initial and last names as the team name. For Example "JSmith&TJones" .

Youth Kata Division (12 years and under)

The following three Kata are to be contested (teams can be of single or mixed gender)

  • Nage-No-Kata (First three sets)
  • Katame-No-Kata (osaekomi waza only)
  • Ju-No Kata (First two sets)

Youth Kata Division (13 to 16 years)

The following three Katas are to be contested (teams can be single or mixed gender)

·         Nage-No-Kata (In full)

·         Katame-No-Kata (osaekomi waza and shime waza) only)

·         Ju-No Kata (In full)

Adult Kata Divisions (17 years and older)

The following three Katas are to be contested (teams can be single or mixed gender)

·         Nage-No-Kata (In full)

·         Katame-No-Kata (In full)

·         Ju-No Kata (In full)
